Program Assistant, World Relief, Goma, Congo (Democratic Republic)

Position: Program/Administrative Volunteer (may be combined with Church 
Partner Volunteer)
Reporting to: DRC Country Director 
Location: Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo
Min. Commitment: 6 months
Position is unpaid

General Function:
The general function of the intern is to support the work of the WR Congo 
country director and program manager, which requires flexibility and 
willingness to adjust in order to respond to program needs.  The intern will assist 
staff with programmatic, administrative, and logistical tasks.  The position 
will be based in World ReliefÂ’s office in Goma, Eastern DRC. 

Key Responsibilities:
	Support Country Director and Program Manager with general 
administrative tasks.
	Assist with logistics of country office visitor and travel 
schedules.
	Assisting with the research, writing and editing of grants, 
reports, and marketing stories
	Assist and support the WR Congo staff in other project related 
activities as needs arise.

 Requirements 

Qualifications:

	Strong writing and reporting skills
	Minimum education: Completion of a BachelorÂ’s degree in a 
relevant field such as but not limited to; International Studies, Communications, 
English, Public Policy
	Analytical, planning and critical thinking skills
	Organizational skills
	Able to manage multiple tasks
	IT experience: MS Word, Excel, Email packages essential
	Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of 
varied backgrounds.
	Flexible, motivated team player
	Overseas experience and/or cross-cultural skills a plus
	Proficiency in French language preferable
	A committed Christian faith 
	A commitment to learn and serve under the supervision of World 
Relief 


Working/Living Conditions:
	DRC is a challenging work environment, so it is expected that the 
successful candidate will be comfortable working in a hot climate, with 
limited amenities. 
	Operating in sensitive and potentially volatile areas, security 
restrictions are enforced.
	Working hours will be structured in light of any relevant 
emergency situation being addressed, and may be unsociable at times.
